2000年夏天，嘻哈熱浪吹向聖路易斯，一個名叫Nelly的嘻哈玩家把美國南方俚語與家鄉味
跟美國中西部搖擺樂攪和一下，靠著饒舌榜冠軍曲"Country Grammar(Hot S**t)"嗆出名堂，
首張專輯『Country Grammar/家有家規』勇奪全美流行與節奏藍調榜雙冠王，並連霸流行專輯
榜7週冠軍王座，輯中的"Ride Wit Me"、"E.I."等單曲更炒熱專輯銷售紅盤，光是美國就賣出
900萬張，因為Nelly的走紅，嘻哈熱力多了點騷勁，還有更多的趣味與霸氣。兩年後的夏天，
Nelly的熱力溫度計更直竄沸點，2002專輯『Nellyville/烏托邦』一出場就包辦全美流行專輯
榜在內的十大排行冠軍王座，專輯中與當紅製作組合The Neptunes合作的派對熱歌
"Hot In Herre"，還有與天命真女團員凱莉的深情對唱曲"Dilemma"，一路霸佔流行與饒舌榜
冠軍近乎半年之久，這兩首歌在2003年抱走葛萊美獎最佳饒舌男歌手與合唱兩項殊榮；同年，
Nelly偕同Murphy Lee與P. Diddy為電影「絕地戰警2」共嗆冠軍大作"Shake Ya Tailfeather"，
