「在日本黃昏有『逢魔時刻』一說，如同字面意義，此時的人容易遇見不存在於現世之物。日本的神道教信仰中，相信自然界中兩樣不同東西的交界處或世景物驟然變化的地方能連結現世和隱世，如山河之間、瀑布及海市蜃樓等地，而位於白天和黑夜之間的時間交界處的黃昏也是其中之一。」而人與人之間因為各種原因而成的曖昧不明，就類似黃昏的氛圍。 這次張伍新專輯《黃昏》在於闡述那些光怪陸離的事物，經常來自人性的投射，彷彿現代版《聊齋誌異》般，《黃昏》的八首曲目題材皆圍繞在幾個不具名的角色之中，而那些角色可能就是之後的你我他…一聲一響的逐一刻鑿各種社會現象，並圈出一道道人生中幽暗的圓。 In traditional Japan, there is a saying in fuzzy zones in nature, between light and dark, sea and mountain, where weird things are most likely to be encountered.
