Mild breeze touches gently. Over the straw roof, fog lifts; a hazy sun rises.
Namo the founder (Shakyamuni).
Now clear is the air in the dawn, mists bathing in sunbeams.
Namo Amitābha. (This is) the mount of Master Sujue.
By the pagoda and the yard of the Temple of Pure Light, hearing the bells of The Temple of
Universal Enlightenment, (we) remember the grandeur of the Tang-dynasty Master Yongjia, who is
of great renown.
Seeing the clouds high above the Ou River and the moonlight over the Twilight Pond, (we) aspire
to the accomplishments of Song-dynasty monks, which the Temple of Ultimate Happiness
observes.
Amitābha. (Buddha’s) light is benevolent. (It is brighter than) that of the sun and the moon,
hundreds of thousands of millions of times.

The sun rises above the East Hill, and the clouds and the water are brightened.
Buddha’s glory illuminates all, and the heaven and the earth are enlightened.
Adorned with the Sapta-ratna, the small hill hosts a universe infinite.
Sheltered by the three Yanas, the Earth teems with the doctrine of the tides.
